The Office of Emergency Preparedness was created in May 2006 to address emergency planning and
response needs related to public health emergencies. Our mission is to improve our capacity to respond to
public health emergencies. We do this by collaborating and coordinating with county, regional, state and
national partners to prepare coordinated responses to pandemic, natural and man-made disasters.
This office also provides regional Public Health Coordination for a 13 county region.
